About this Event
This fun and hands-on workshop offers middle school students a great introduction to the fundamentals of abstract art. Through demonstrations, painting exercises, and personalized feedback, participants will learn to paint loosely and expressively. The workshop will also include a brief history of abstract art as well as a review of some notable artists. All materials are included along with a mid-session snack. This workshop is open to Grades 5-8.
The workshop is led by Amy Kustra, an abstract painter based in Portland, Freeport resident, and a mother of two budding artists —one in middle school and the other in high school. Pictured: "Grace" 14x14 in. by Amy Kustra.
Shapes, Colors, and Curiosity: Abstract Art for Beginners with Amy Kustra will take place on Saturday, April 12, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. Maximum of 10 students per class. Cost is $35 per student.
