Fragments Margaret River Sculpture AssociationNovember 27-December 16. Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm
Launch Event: Friday, November 29, 6-8pm.
Fragments are pleased to present its inaugural exhibition. The ten sculptors who form part of Margaret River’s Fragments Association are from diverse backgrounds and all love to work in sculpture as a medium to express life’s experience.
The exhibition participants are Martin Ringer, Maggi Foy, Julie Kinney, Ross Lonnie, Roz Davies, Cath Clarke, Russell McKnight, Bevely Young, Robyn Collins and Joyce Y-Hua Lan.
The natural rocks are collected from Redgate, Donnybrook and Manjimup and transformed into sculptures that range from monumental to delicate, from abstract to realistic and from functional to decorative. Our exhibition shows mainly stone carving but also clay sculpture, castings, hebel carving and assemblage.
Fragments has been associated with an affiliated group of stone carvers from south western France for the last five years. A joint, creative, program is being considered for the future.
Thanks to Ross Lonnie who has generously provided space for us to work each week.
