Join Making Space artist Bela Emerson for the culmination of Turning My Cello Around - a four day residency at Fabrica. Experience the performance of a composed work-in-progress piece, engage in responsive movement, and participate in discussion with Bela and a small audience.Throughout her 12-month ACE-funded development period and her Making Space residency, Bela has been exploring various interlinked themes, one of which is ‘who is this for?’. As part of this, Bela will be sharing a composed piece and accompanying movement, which will form an opportunity for the invited audience to join in as part of the experience.
The artist talk will be hosted by Dr Bethan Prosser, violinist, listening practitioner and researcher. During her doctoral project, Bethan developed her unique methodology - Participatory Listening Research – that uses listening methods to understand people’s relationships to changing places. She is extending and applying this approach through an ESRC-funded post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Brighton. She and Bela continue to develop and deliver Interactive Listening Walks together.
