Ray Phelps is an Americana singer-songwriter from Jarrettsville, Maryland. A small rural town with in the Piedmont Plateau region of Maryland. With his sound rooted with a blend of Traditional/Old time Country music and punk rock, he leads a Dark Country Folk fiddle/banjo duo band called Barefoot Vagrant, recently releasing a 7 song DIY album titled "A Bottle, Misery And A Long, Long Road".
Though Phelps' only recorded work is under Barefoot Vagrant, he often performs live shows solo, bringing a unique clawhammer banjo style playing brought with the punch of his raw and powerful vocals. Ray Phelps brings a mix of deeply personal original tunes inspired by his experiences with drug and alcohol addiction, mental health troubles and desperation.
Yell at God is a South Philly-based dark folk/folk punk queer femme duo (Orah Ruth and RJ) using music to facilitate emotional catharsis and collective joy and healing. Using clawhammer banjo, jugband-style bass, wailing vocals, and the occasional fiddle, Yell at God weaves sonic tapestries that make you want to dance, hug your friends, scream, and cry, all at the same time if the occasion calls for it.
