Ancient Tools for Our Modern Lives
Shamanic Trance is an ancient healing practice designed to awaken our connection with ecstatic states of being. In each session we hold a posture for 15 minutes with our eyes closed while drum and rattle activates our brains and bodies, expanding our consciousness and allowing us to experience the invisible realities beyond this seen world.
During this shamanic journey your sensations of sound, temperature and internal visions may change. Your sense of time and reality may alter and as soon as the journey is finished you will feel present again in this world.

What Are Trance Postures?
Shamanic or Ecstatic Trance Postures-(as they are officially called) were discovered by anthropologist and scholar Dr. Felicitas Goodman in the early 70’s. She discovered that modern humans can open long forgotten doorways to the spirit world and the healing that accompanies this by holding a posture based on artifacts from our gathering-hunting ancestors.
We hold these postures for 15 minutes while drum and rattle activate our bodies and brains, expanding our consciousness and allowing us to experience the invisible realities beyond this seen world.
With these postures we have access to the ecstatic and healing states that come when we connect with that which is greater than ourselves. We also have the opportunity to remember the ancient, earth based wisdom that lies within our bones.
Dr. Goodman spoke of modern humans as being ecstasy deprived, looking to feel connected or high from sources and substances outside ourselves. These postures are a beautiful, easy and natural way to come back into balance inside ourselves and get high in a wholesome, healthy way.

Meet Lizzi
Facilitated by Lizzi Juda- who has been a practitioner and facilitator of Ecstatic Trance Postures for over 25 years. She has found that she is more grounded on the earth and has an understanding of what our ancestors' nervous systems were like before the overwhelming environments of our modern societies. She has also found that her intuition is quite activated and she is plugged into a bigger source of support and inspiration because of this powerful practice.
