"Two Gentlemen of Verona" is an early comedy by William Shakespeare. The play follows two friends, Valentine and Proteus, who travel from Verona to Milan. Valentine falls in love with Silvia, the Duke's daughter, while Proteus, initially in love with Julia, also falls for Silvia, betraying his friend. Julia disguises herself as a boy to follow Proteus. After a series of misunderstandings and comic situations, the play ends with the friends reconciling, and the two couples, Valentine with Silvia and Proteus with Julia, happily united.
