This is a wide-ranging call for an ensemble of versatile actors and musicians to come and join us for a fun audition evening for our 2026 production of Shakespeare in Love, directed by Pam Logan, KSM, with Amanda Tollemache as Assistant DirectorThe Plot: In a nutshell, Shakespeare has writer’s block and unwittingly hires a woman as an actor. It is a wildly playful, funny, and romantic work of historical fiction.
The cast: Approximately 20 actors, a range of ages, some doubling of roles. See boathousetheatre.co.nz for a full description of the roles.
Shakespeare in Love is a play with music, adapted for the stage by Tony Award® and Olivier Award® -winning writer Lee Hall, based on the screenplay by Academy Award®-winning writer Marc Norman and Tony Award®, Olivier Award®, and Academy Award®-winning writer Tom Stoppard.
Our production from April 15th to 25th 2026 will be directed by Pam Logan, KSM, with Amanda Tollemache as Assistant Director.
