Join your Host Rae Coppins our Auckland Area rep for a weekend camping at Shakespear regional park, which is a bird sanctuary right at the end of Whangaparaoa peninsula North Auckland.Unfortunately this means no pets.
This is an Auckland Council camp, please book online before arriving, you will receive an email with the gate code. https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/parks-recreation/stay-at-park/Pages/accommodation-details.aspx?itemID=68 Fees Apply $18/Adult/night
There are toilets so any kind of camping is fine.
There are 2 camping sections, we'll be in the Te Haruhi bay not the self contained section but it's a short walk so you can camp there if preferred.
Bring a red torch/headlight to go kiwi spotting at night.
Lots of walks around the park.
The beach is a few metres from the camp.
Meet your fellow campers with a shared lunch on Saturday.
I'll arrive around 6pm Friday and am planning on setting up on the right inbetween the gate and toilets where you can get a glimpse of the sea.
I have a light blue and white retro caravan.
