We all want the same simple things in life — to laugh, to connect, and to have fun with someone. But these days, it often feels like the world has made that harder. Many of us feel isolated, anxious, or unsure when to even say “hello” anymore.Yet research (and real life!) keeps proving the same truth: our greatest happiness comes from other people. That’s where games come in. Games break the ice instantly — no awkward small talk, just laughter, playfulness, and shared memories.
I’m on a mission to bring people in and around Loughborough together through the joy of play. After hosting over 45 board game nights, I’ve learned how to create spaces where everyone feels relaxed, welcomed, and free to be themselves.
On 13th November, I’m hosting a special monthly event at SOAK Cocktail Bar called ‘Shakes & Ladders’ - an evening of great company, refreshing drinks, and classic games we’ve loved all our lives: Scrabble, Chess, Backgammon, Dominoes, Monopoly, Mahjong, Rummikub, and plenty more. Feel free to bring your own favourites too!
