Meet Frankie an 11 year old that loves football(especially the Steelers) history playing video games and being a big brother.
In July 2020 Frankie was diagnosed with a very rare type of Muscular Dystrophy FSHD Type 2. So rare that he is the only kid at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU being treated for it. This type of MD affects the upper part of your body- arms shoulders face- and does not have a cure....yet!
Frankie and his family have had to spend a lot of time at CHoR since his diagnosis and feel very lucky that CHoR is in Richmond. They have worked every year since his diagnosis to raise money for research and trials for FSHD and are glad to have amazing people in their lives to help! Every dollar means a step closer to a cure!
