Shadows From Within is a collaborative collection of South Asian dances from Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia and India presented seamlessly for the first time in Portland. Travel through the arts to the exotic lands of South Asia and immerse yourself in the ancient art forms. Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see over 25 dancers collectively perform dances from Nepal- the land of the majestic Himalayan mountain ranges, the lush islands of Indonesia and the ancient classical dance of India.
This unique dance production is led by Portland's renowned performer, choreographer and master artist: Jayanthi Raman and her dancers performing classical dance of India.
Revered teacher Prajwal Acharya leads the dance from Nepal. A celebrated performer and teacher, he creates awareness of the rich arts and culture of Nepal.
The Cambodian Dance Troupe of Oregon (CDTO) brings heavenly dances that honors and celebrate the Cambodian culture and heritage from the 7th century.
Indonesian Performing Arts of Oregon (IPAO) brings the arts and celebrates the cultures of the 17,000 islands of Indonesia.
