The Hannibal-LaGrange University Theatre Department is proud to present Shadowlands, a moving true story that explores love, loss, and the courage it takes to embrace both. Performances will be held November 13–15, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. each evening in the Roland Fine Arts Center.
Shadowlands tells the story of C. S. Lewis, the beloved author of The Chronicles of Narnia, whose quiet academic life at Oxford is turned upside down when he meets Joy Davidman, a bold and brilliant American poet. What begins as an unexpected friendship blossoms into a love that challenges Lewis’ deepest beliefs about life, faith, and the cost of truly opening one’s heart. Both tender and profound, Shadowlands invites audiences into an intimate portrayal of love tested by tragedy and strengthened by faith.
To enhance the emotional depth of this production, HLGU Theatre will transform the stage into a black box–style theatre, offering a closer and more personal setting. Seating is limited to 100 guests per performance to create a truly immersive and emotionally engaging experience.
Tickets are $10 general admission, with no senior or group discounts available for this production. Tickets can be purchased online at hlg.tix.com. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as seating is limited.
