📜 DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

“Sghar” means small in Phoenician language. Sghar is home to some 🏺 Phoenician stone sarcophagi, as well as many historical 💒 churches and monasteries.
This hike is wonderful. First, we will visit the historical Fortress 🏛 Al Qattine Monastery, then hike in Sghar village, visit the Museum of St. Rafqa and finally explore the ancient Saint Valley 🕊 Wady Harba. The hidden treasures and beauty of 🇱🇧 Lebanon are yet to be unveiled.
🌿🥾 as usual, there will be two levels of difficulty.
HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous
🥇 Level 3: An easy 🚶 walk, with very light ascents and descents. It is ideal for 📷 picture taking. It will be a great trail session and a ❤️ lovely day with the group.
After visiting Deir El Qattine, will take the bus to St. Rafqa Monastery and explore the museum.
🥈 Level 5: About 12 KM (4 hours) It is a moderate walk. This level is strictly for advanced walkers.
Our journey will start in Sghar, 🚶 walking together in stretch way to Deir el Qattine in Sghar. It is an ⚱️old and historical Byzantine Church, atop a hill 🔭 overlooking beautiful views, also known as Saydet el Bzaz, stand inside three caves, with an altar, arcades, arches, and ruins.
After reaching St. Rafqa in Jrabta, we will 🥾 hike through a 🌳🌴pine forest to reach a small church in the middle of the ⛰mountain, surrounded by trees, crossing an old 💦 spring.
Following our visit to the forest, we will continue 🚶 walking together on a stretch way to Harba Saint Valley. We will pass spring the first Patriarch Saint John Maron (685 A.C.) and explore the historic caves and Church, immersed in 🍂🍁🍂 wild nature.
Afterward, will continue together along a trail offering many 🌫️ scenic spots, leading us to the beach where we will have fun and enjoy ourselves. From there we will head back to the 🚌 bus.
