About this Event
The Society of Façade Engineering is a learned society for technical specialists, engineers and designers working in the field of facades and building envelopes. The society brings these people together in a forum where they can work together to advance knowledge and practice in facade engineering, promote good practice and ensure that today's increasingly complex building façades meet the many and varying performance criteria. In particular, it addresses the complex issues in building physics of thermal insulation, ventilation, lighting, solar control, and acoustics. We are starting a Hub for the SFE in India to create a community of façade specialists working on and delivering the spectacular buildings across the sub-continent.
Our first SFE Hub India event will take place in Mumbai – for members and those interested in the society, façade systems and building envelopes.
We will at first be presenting the SFE, the aims of the Hub and the benefits of SFE membership before giving details of how participants can join the SFE.
After some words from our sponsor, Russell Cole (Director of Arup, leading their façade business across the region and global building envelope skills leader) will make a present the characteristics, Pros and Cons of different curtain wall systems and where they should be used in different locations on buildings. This, we hope, will spark a lively debate exploring what curtain wall system is used where.
Refreshments will be provided by our sponsor Schueco.
