Set in a high school, Maxine follows the story of a middle-aged teacher coping with the traumatic aftermath of a brutal attack that occurred 30 years prior. As she heads back to her classroom one afternoon, the sighting of a new male janitor sends Maxine into a state of paranoia and confusion. She attempts to process the incident, trying to decipher the delusions from reality, but ultimately, Maxine puts her students and her own life at risk.

Marnesba Tackett, is an unsung hero in the Civil Rights Movement and NAAP member for over 90 years. Her challenges were not only being light-skinned, who refused to pass as "white," but as a woman trying to burst through barriers in a male-dominated world. Thus, she fought against both racial and gender inequality in all she did.

A short film based on the true experiences of a Black girl growing up in a predominantly white city.

High Risk | Director: Eric J. Dickens

High Risk: The Unfiltered Truths of Minority Pregnancy is a documentary that explores the lives of several individuals that have experienced complications with conceiving, giving birth and postpartum depression. This project follows people of color on their journeys to parenthood through varying methods including assisted reproductive technology. The piece explores the health and emotional challenges that Black people face in the United States related to childbirth.
