About this Event
Did you know that SF has not only “Affordable Housing” programs for recently homeless residents, but also “Affordable Housing” programs for households earning up to nearly $200,000/year? If you’ve also heard that it costs nearly $800,000 to build an affordable unit, come hear from a city administrator and an affordable housing developer how we make new housing projects come together to get more units built!
There is a wide variety of affordable, below-market-rate, and subsidized programs which the city runs. Hear how those programs get turned into new housing units. Dan Adams of the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development will be speaking about the city’s policies, and Sam Moss of the Mission Community Housing Corp. will be talking about a developer’s perspective on what it takes to get affordable housing built, how affordable housing costs stack up, and what can be improved in the process.
