About this Event
Sexual and gender diverse (SGD) is an umbrella term used to describe a range of sexual and gender identities (e.g., 2SLGBTQI+) which are constantly evolving.
This in-person workshop -- it will take place in the Antechamber at Victoria City Hall -- assists organizations to develop, it is not designed for interpersonal skill development.
Existing research suggests that SGD people, particularly seniors, often do not disclose sexual orientation or gender identity to service providers. If we don’t know who we are serving, we cannot provide the tailored, person-centred care and services we all want to offer!
Without explicit inclusion, services, care, or support may be avoided, delayed, inappropriate, incomplete, and even harmful.
This workshop will help motivate your organization’s leadership to provide SGD inclusive and affirming services and become familiar with the toolkit and how it can help your organization provide more inclusive and affirming services for SGD clients.
Start on the path to inclusive and affirming services by joining us at this workshop.
PLEASE NOTE: Seating is limited so please do register early if you are interested in this workshop. Thank you.
