Give your clothes a new life in our upcoming mending and makeover workshop with The Sewing Collective! In this beginner friendly mending workshop, in our Create Space, we will be learning some basic techniques to help you mend and alter your own clothes.
Whether it’s hemming pants, fixing holes or adjusting the sizing of something you’ve thrifted, this workshop will help you get the most out of your clothes. Mending is such an important and empowering skill that will help you get the most out of your wardrobe.
What you’ll do:
Bring along 2 items to mend or alter to learn skills in:
- Sewing machine operation
- Threading the machine
- Sewing basic seams
- Hemming
- Repairing holes
- Adjusting sizing
- And more!
Knowledge required:
No sewing skills required! Even if you have never even seen a sewing machine before, you can do it!
What should I bring?
Bring up to 2 items to mend or alter (If you don’t have any head to your local op shop to pick something up!). All other materials and equipment will be provided.
