Choose from weekly classes on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings, Friday mornings or Saturday mornings. Fall 1 semester runs from week of August 12 through week of September 2.In this program, students will work through a specific sequence of projects designed by us to develop their sewing ability. Students will explore the whole world of sewing as they learn garment making, bag making, patchwork, embroidery, applique, and more! They'll work with many different types of fabric and learn how to choose appropriate fabric for a project. As students progress through the program, they will build upon their skills by tackling more difficult and more detailed projects. In each six-week session students typically make two projects - one decor/accessory type item and one garment. Six week sessions continue in succession, year round from August to May.
The Sewing School Program is comprised of 4 Levels, each Level taking approximately 9 months (or one full school year) to complete - students can remain in the Program for four years and never make the same project twice! Read our blog post to learn more!
Can't come year round? No problem! Students are able to leave and re-enter the program at any time, they'll just pick up where they left off!
Class Requirements:
Participants MUST complete the Beginner Workshop for Kids prior to starting this semester. If your child participated in a Summer Sewing Camp, then they are exempt from the Beginner Workshop.
Kids classes are appropriate for students in 2nd through 8th grades.
