About this Event
In this 5-hour workshop, you'll make one of two projects:
- Easy Yoga Wrap Pants, with slit sides that allow for a breeze while still giving plenty of coverage, great for practicing yoga comfortably and fashionably.
- Jiffy Wrap Blouse, a great piece of vintage fashion with a very clever and simple concept.
Both are made in one piece with a simple tie-on for flexible fitting, and based on a couple of basic measurements. They can be made with cotton, or for a little more of a challenge, with a rayon-blend or knit fabric.
You will learn:
- How to read a pattern and pattern instructions,
- Choosing and preparing fabric,
- Learning about fabric grainline and pattern layout,
- Cutting out the pattern,
- Review of stitches, seams, seam allowances and seam finishes.
Basic familiarity with use of a sewing machine is required, such as what you can learn in our Intro to Sewing class. Details of what to bring to class will be provided after you sign up.
About the instructor:

In 2024, Michelle decided to make sewing her full-time career and opened Michelle Lee’s Stitchery, a sewing and alterations shop in Yarmouth. As well as managing the shop and teaching sewing, Michelle produces craft products for presentation in craft shows as her “side gig”.
