About this Event
Have you ever bought a sewing pattern and felt overwhelmed by all the symbols, numbers, and terms? Join our Sewing Pattern 101 workshop and turn confusion into confidence!
In this 2-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn:
- How to read and understand sewing patterns—whether PDF patterns or store-bought (like Simplicity and others).
- The language of patterns: terms, symbols, and what they really mean for your project.
- Measuring, ease, grainline and seam allowances—how to ensure a perfect fit.
- Pattern adjustments—learn the basics of resizing and altering patterns for different body types.
- How to tackle the anatomy of simple sewing patterns to make your sewing projects smoother and more enjoyable.
We’ll provide sample patterns for practice, but feel free to bring your own patterns if you have questions or projects you’re working on.
Whether you’re new to sewing or just looking to brush up on your pattern skills, this workshop is designed to be friendly, welcoming, and interactive. Walk away with the confidence to read, understand, and adjust patterns like a pro!
