About this Event
Date & Time: Sunday Jan 12th, 2025, 3:30 - 6:30pm
Location: Brookline Arts Center (86 Monmouth St, Brookline, MA 02446)
Join us on Sunday, January 12, for a sewing circle open to Black folks, where we will collaboratively quilt the poetry of Marcellus Williams. I’ll guide participants in the trapunto quilting technique—a method I’ve been learning over the past year—that adds weight and presence to each word we stitch (examples pictured). Through this meditative yet labor-intensive process, we’ll work together to honor his poetry in a meaningful way!
If you’re unable to join this time, don’t worry; this will be a multi-session series. No sewing experience is needed, and the event is free and open to the public.
**PLEASE NOTE: There will be a videographer documenting this video circle.
