Happy Pride, y'all! This workshop will teach participants introductory hand-sewing techniques while making their own miniature pride flag using reclaimed fabric. This workshop is intended for beginner stitchers interested in learning while they make! All materials are provided and participants can choose to create whatever striped pride flag they want.
Participants should go home with a mini-flag about the size of a piece of loose-leaf paper (8.5x11 inches). Sewing experience is not required- this workshop is designed for folks who are looking for a fun introduction to sewing or experienced sewers who are looking for a relaxing project!
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

About the instructor
Leah Hummel is an Austin, Texas-based costume & crafts educator, designer and maker with a BFA in Theatre Design & Technology from Western Michigan University. She is currently in her final year of pursuing her MFA in Costume Design at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to freelance costume and props design, they have 8+ years experience as a teaching artist and accessibility aide. She was the former Site Coordinator for the Downtown location of the Arc of the Capital Metro Area's arts education program and taught extracurricular sewing classes at Niles West High School in Skokie, IL.
