Bring your beloved fabric scraps and turn them into functional, beautiful items in a supportive workshop setting.
Whether you’re a beginner, amending a project or a maker with a stash of beautiful leftover fabric, we’ve got a spot for you at the sewing table!
These Sew : Scrap Project Days are guided, but flexible for your creative spin. All sessions include tuition and plenty of inspiration!
Craft a bold, beautiful stocking from your festive or favourite fabrics – ready to hang!
Materials: Use your own fabric stash or buy from SCRAP. For the Big Christmas Stocking bring around 2 metres worth of scraps (can be mixed).
Lunch is not provided so please come prepared. The Scrap cafe will be open serving hot and cold drinks and cake.
Emma Garry, who will lead this Project Day, is an online pattern designer with a cute shop Eme Cloth & Yarn in Ilkley where for 11 years she has been selling her favourite fabrics, patterns and teaching people to sew and make their own clothes. Previously a graphic designer working with major brands her passion has always been textiles and prints.
Emma says: "I never throw remnants away so these sessions working with Scrap about reuse, recycle, repurpose are fuelling my designers brain to create lovely things from waste. It’s very exciting!"
