On Saturday, May 17th, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater joins forces with Severin Films to bring you SEVERIN SATURDAY!, a 35mm triple feature of fabulously fringe flicks, escaping from the Severin video library for ONE NIGHT ONLY to tantalize and terrify on the giant Mahoning screen!Since 2006, Severin Films has been an icon in the world of independent video labels, rescuing, restoring, and releasing cult classics from around the world, including the works of Russ Meyer, Jess Franco, Al Adamson, Andy Milligan, Ray Dennis Steckler, Eloy De La Iglesia, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento and more, presenting cult favorites and unearthing a treasure trove of little-seen gems in stunning presentations on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD.
The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is thrilled to welcome Severin Films to the lot for a terrifying 35mm triple feature of three favorites from their catalog, and as a special treat, Severin will be vending from their voluminous vault all night!
We begin our night of frights with Antonio Margheriti and Sergio Corbucci’s black and white Italian gothic creeper classic, CASTLE OF BLOOD (1964), starring horror icon Barbara Steele in a slow-burn tale of spooky castles, dark shadows, and death!
We then travel from Italy to merry olde England, where a not-so-merry group of bikers called The Living Dead find that with a little help from black magic and self-termination, they can rise again as unstoppable zombies in PSYCHOMANIA (1973), starring Nicky Henson, Beryl Reid and George Sanders!
We end the night the only way that seems fitting, by taking the terror directly to your car and having a DRIVE-IN MASSACRE (1976), as a marauding maniac stalks the rows at a California passion pit! You’ll pay to get in…and pray to get out!
It’s a thrilling threefer tribute to one the heroes of cult classic home video, a match made in Drive-In Heaven, and you’re invited!
