Seven Suns’ debut studio album, “Many Feathers” will be released Nov. 8 following a weeklong inter-island tour. The highly anticipated album wraps up a yearlong venture of single releases which charted both locally and abroad. The album will feature 10 original songs including previously released singles “Stranger,” “Faded,” “Run It Back,” and title track “Many Feathers.”
Seven Suns was initially conceived as a passion project to create music featuring various local singers—but after consolidating behind lead vocalist Justin Kawika Young, they began to write and record original music. Despite being a newly formed band, each member draws on years of experience in both solo and backing projects and brings a wide range of musical influence to this unique collective.
Many Feathers, “was written as an expression of the founding ideal of our band,” says vocalist Justin Kawika Young. “We have all been on individual musical paths but in Seven Suns we find greater strength as a collective, bonded and lifting each other to new heights. Now, having the opportunity to connect live with the community that has embraced us, makes this feel like a full circle moment for us and we are so excite for the journey ahead.”
The album tour will be the band’s first headline shows after opening for artists like Maoli, The Green, and Allen Stone. The band will visit four islands over two weekends as follows:
Hilo, Hawaii (11.1) - Crown Room, Grand Hilo Naniloa
Kona, Hawaii (11.2) - KBXtreme
Kapa‘a, Kauai (11.3) - Kuhio Lounge, Hilton Garden Inn Kauai
Kahului, Maui (11.8 ) - Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center
Honolulu, Oahu (11.9) - The Republik
