Step Back in Time at Settlement Day!Join us at the William Harris Homestead Museum & Education Center on Saturday, November 15th 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, for a day where history comes to life!
Our Colonial Life Team, led by Tomahawk Hank, will transport you to the early days of Walton County with hands-on demonstrations of the essential skills settlers once relied on to survive and thrive.
Meet special guests from the Appalachee River Settlers group, explore the sights, sounds, and stories of the 18th century, and discover how those early pioneers shaped the world we know today.
Visit with Jim Smallwood, a descendant of the Cherokee Nation. Watch his demonstrations of primitive life skills and learn about one of the very first settlers in our area.
From the crackle of the fire to the rhythm of daily chores, every moment promises an unforgettable journey into the past.
Take a tour of the historic log home and outbuildings, hop on a hayride down to the banks of the Appalachee River, or stroll the woodland trail to enjoy the stunning fall foliage. Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!
Perfect for families, history lovers, and curious minds of all ages—this is one event you won’t want to miss.
