Workshop leader: Amy Armstrong, award-winning leadership coach and clinical hypnotherapist.
Good line management is at the heart of an effective organization. This workshop, led by Amy Armstrong of The Executive Alchemist, will reflect on the line manager’s role and give you concrete ideas for building your confidence and competence in this area. You will explore the what, the why and the how of effective, positive line management. Given the session is only two hours long, it will be be a bit of a whistle-stop tour, but will include time to pause and reflect on your priority areas of development.

People who are new to line management, and/or those who want to reflect on and improve their skills.
Learning objectives
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
• Define the role and objectives of a line manager
• Understand the practicalities of how to manage in a way which supports your reports do their best work and helps mitigate stress.
• Name at least 2 things that you intend to do differently with respect to:
- adapting your communication style to meet individual needs;
- setting objectives;
- managing 1:1s;
- giving feedback.
