Instructor - Shirah Rubin @shirahrubin
Shirah Rubin is a social practice artist based in Boston. Through her artistic endeavors, which include installations, sculptural ceramics, and public art activations she invents three-dimensional worlds that explore the memory of experience as it intersects with a particular history of place. She studied studio art and psychology at the University of Delaware. She has worked as the Community Artist in Residence at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and has participated in other residencies including the Vermont Studio Center. She is a member of the Independent Artist Program at Harvard Ceramics and the National Council for Ceramic Education. She has received grants from the Brookline Arts Commission and the Mass Cultural Council She recently received a commission for a permanent outdoor co-created ceramics mural at the Veronica B. Smith Senior Center in Brighton MA. She has exhibited in group and solo shows nationally. She is a member of Artisans Asylum in Brighton where she leads creativity and clay workshops.
Class Description
What do you want to make this year?
Invigorate your creativity with a collage, setting your intentions for 2026. In this specialized small group we will use collage to map our ideas and hopes for what we dare to create. Tap into your curiosity and make plans to develop hand-made creations.
We will provide supplies, and you are also welcome to bring photos or quotes for 2026 that relate to your aspirations. Your collage can focus on areas such as creativity, friendships, relationships, personal growth, health, career, and much more.
Material Fee
The materials fee for this class is $10 This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in Venmo.
Class Goals
The end product will be a visual aid, inspiring you as you stretch towards your personal dreams and goals for the coming year.

Students Should Bring
