Sessions at Stained Glass is a monthly concert series from the music studio of Peter Smith. For vol.16, we will feature New Orleans native John Michael Bradford on trumpet. A newcomer to LA, John Michael is hardly a newcomer to music, with his soulful and rich playing routed deep in his hometown of New Orleans. He's played with Jon Batiste, Herbie Hancock, Harry Connick Jr. and many more. Rounding out the band will be top-shelf bassist, Jonathan Richards, and masterful drummer, Joe LaBarbera. I can't believe it took me nearly 20 years in LA to play with Joe, but now that I've done it a few times he's become one of my absolute favorite drummers to play with: a true master!
There will be light refreshments served, free of charge.
Stained Glass Music Studio is located in the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Parking meters are not enforced on Sunday. Alternately, you can park in the garage at 150 E. Holly Street 91101. You can park in any blank spot or any spot marked "First Baptist Church." Bring in your garage ticket for validation. Someone will meet you at the front door on Marengo and guide you upstairs. Important*: there are two short flights from the second floor (8 steps each) up to the studio, which are unavoidable. There is no elevator access to the space itself.
