About this Event

Emma is the 23-year old founder of Earth Minutes, an environmental communications service that aims to share environmental research in the most effective way possible. With a background in environmental research (specifically soil science) and filmmaking, she is on a mission to bridge the gap between the art and science industries to collaboratively work together to drive long-term positive environmental change. She not only wants to communicate environmental research innovatively, but she aims to make environmental learning accessible to all, to empower others to live more sustainably, to benefit both society and the planet.

Emma's talk will tackle the universal goal, across global environmental charities and organisations, in understanding how to ‘engage the unengaged’ within environmental topics. Through her start-up Earth Minutes, she reveals the communication tools that she uses within both scientific research and filmmaking to engage a diverse range of audiences. Exploring both the challenges and opportunities of these tools, she will discuss the importance of why and how we need to get people to care about the environment, for the long term.

You can find out more about Emma, Earth Minutes (and Earth Minutes Instagram), and her NOW series online.
