Come and raise a glass with us at The for a night of remembrance and celebration, as we honor the life of our dear friend, Sergio Ernesto Contreras.

Sergio's 'Wake' the Fxck Up Man! will be a vibrant tribute to his spirit, his laughter, and his deep love for music, solidarity, and community.

We are creating a space inspired by his greatest passions, where live music, spoken word, great food, and good company can flourish just as they did throughout his life.

We are honored to welcome the incredible Grupo Luma for a Latin American music performance. We’ll also have an open mic session for anyone who wishes to share a story, a song, or a poem in honor of Sergio.

A testament to the resilience of the human spirit, Sergio was one of the Chilean refugees welcomed to Sheffield, and he played an integral role in building a new life and community here.

His powerful story was the subject of the award-winning documentary by Yiannis Kolozis and was featured in a film by Chris Paul, which chronicled the lives of Chileans who fled their homeland for the UK.

For many years, Sergio was a part-owner of the iconic 'Sergio’s La Bamba,' a restaurant that later became and served as a gathering place for the community he loved. In his honor, authentic food will be provided by El Paso.
