About this Event
Septology is a hard swinging septet led by arrangers, Harry Brunt & Connor Martin. Septology draws together the hamonic and textural possibilities of a large ensemble whilst maintaining the flexibility of a small band. The band will be presenting original arrangements of Joe Henderson’s iconic 1964 album, ‘In ‘N Out’ in addition to other choice standards. Arrangers, Harry Brunt & Connor Martin take their influence from the collaborations of Mel Lewis & Thad Jones, and Gil Evans & Miles Davis to create their soundscapes, whilst seeking to harness the ferocious improvisational energy of the great quartets of the 50s & 60s. As players first, Harry and Connor have emmased impressive lists of appearances.
