Thursday, September 18th @ 9pm !!!👉 It’s the last Night Market Slow Roll of the season, but we’re doing things a little different this time. Instead of riding TO the market, we’re going to be leaving FROM the market.
The sun is setting earlier and it is getting darker sooner, so we want to make sure everyone gets home safely and responsibly.
We will leave as a group to ride on a circuitous route that goes from the farmers market and goes through Edison, downtown, Northside, Stuart, Vine, Westnedge Hill, and Oakland Drive-Winchell neighborhoods, ultimately ending up at Oakwood Plaza (Sawall's/This is a Bookstore). Participants can drop off the ride as the group passes their neighborhood.
It’s like a bike bus, but in reverse!
📍Meet at Kalamazoo Night Market (1204 Bank St)
🕰️ Gather at 9:00p
🚲Roll out at 9:15p
📏 6-7 miles
🐢 Chill pace: 8-10 mph
Bring your music, bring your lights, bring your wheels – seriously, all wheels are welcome! 🚲🛹🛼
This is an effort to socialize and connect people around active mobility. We prioritize fun but we also strongly encourage all who will be participating to reflect on the significance of being visible and building community, as well as the impacts of development and displacement and how they are changing the neighborhoods of Kalamazoo. Participants are expected to be respectful of the community and be especially mindful of the spaces we will be visiting on this ride.
*Helmets are strongly recommended. All participants are doing so at their own risk.
**Lights are required - the more the better!
