Unfiltered: The Stories We Never Tell
A different kind of networking event.
This is not your typical small business mixer. Unfiltered is an immersive storytelling and connection experience designed to go deeper - beyond elevator pitches and polished bios - into the real experiences that shape who we are as professionals and people.
How it Works:
Attendees anonymously submit short personal or business-related stories, confessions, or reflections. Others read them aloud. Then we reflect, connect, and uncover common ground in places we usually keep hidden.
It's about honesty, empathy, and real conversations - the kind that build trust, not just contacts.
Event Flow:
1. Arrival & Story Submission (30 mins)
You’ll be welcomed with a card and a prompt like:
“What’s one thing you’ve never shared in a professional setting?”
“A small win no one noticed - but meant everything.”
“A failure that shaped how you show up in your work.”
“A role or ‘mask’ you feel you have to wear at work.”
Write anonymously. Drop it in the box.
2. Introduce and hear from Child Care Resource & Referral (15 minutes)
3. Live Reading + Reflection (45 mins)
Jessica Williams of Whimsical Celebrations reads the anonymous submissions aloud.
After a few stories, we’ll break into small groups to reflect:
“What resonated with you?”
“Did anything remind you of your own path?”
“What story would you have shared?”
This isn’t about performance - it’s about being human, and building connection on more than just job titles.
3. Open Social & Dialogue (30 mins)
Stick around for open conversation, light networking, and optional discussion stations with prompts like:
“What do you wish more people knew about you professionally?”
“What brings you joy in your work?”
You can even “claim” your story if you feel moved to — or let it speak for itself.
Come as you are. Leave with real connections. Unfiltered is for small business owners, freelancers, creatives, and professionals who are tired of surface-level networking and ready for something real.
