Before the inception of Splashy Fish, Nguyen Le immersed himself in the world of bettas and guppies, breeding these captivating species as a hobbyist. Selling to local customers and shipping to enthusiasts out-of-state, Nguyen covered some breeding costs, fueled by a determination to take his love for aquatics to the next level. In a bold move, he sold all his aquariums, initiating Splashy Fish as a side hustle, and marking the beginning of a remarkable journey.
The turning point arrived with the onset of the pandemic, as people sought solace in the beauty of aquatic life while staying home. Seizing this opportunity, Nguyen transitioned from his corporate job to dedicate himself entirely to Splashy Fish. He personally designed the website, collaborating with local and international breeders to source the highest quality fish and aquarium plants.
What started in a humble garage with 10 aquariums of 10 gallons each blossomed into a 1000+ gallons aquarium store—a testament to our continuous growth. At Splashy Fish, each tank houses only one species of fish, ensuring a proper quarantine process, meticulous care, and preventing unwanted crossbreeding.
In 2022, we embarked on an ambitious journey, establishing a small farm overseas. This strategic move allows us to control our supply chain, particularly for popular species like betta fish, guppies, tetras, discus, and freshwater shrimp.
