September meeting and guest speaker, Cowboy Poet Extraordinaire Bj Smith

Renowned western entertainer Bj Smith enjoys spinning cowboy poetry from his life experiences as a western outfitter, horse trainer, riding coach and Mountie. He has authored three books and has served as President of the Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association. Bj Smith is known for his easygoing delivery, well accented with humour and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. A winner of the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Award for best cowboy poetry CD of the year, his performances have been featured at cowboy poetry gatherings and festivals across western Canada, the USA, and internationally on cruise ships.
The guest speaker portion of the evening's program will come after a brief General Meeting of ATRA members and a social networking break.
