Our speaker this month is José Betancourt. José is a Professor of Art and Photography at The University of Alabama in Huntsville's Department of Art, Art History, and Design. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida and his Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the City University of New York - Hunter College. José's topic will be "Cuba: Memories Revisited". This is a talk he put together for two projects. One was on the memories of a 5-year-old, the other on revisiting the place of the memories. He will spend most of his time talking about the constructed images and then show the straight photos towards the end.
This promises to be a unique presentation. We hope you can attend.
