Dawn Marie Lewis of Austin will present her book called "My Teacher Moved to Laos" at the next Books for Lunch program on Wednesday, September 10, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m., in the Board Room, third floor, Temple Public Library. Ms. Lewis is an engineer who also taught school in Austin for ten years before going to Laos to work with water purification efforts. Presently she is back in the Austin area but will return to Laos and her work there with a non-profit known as TerraClear. "My Teacher Moved to Laos" is a delightful interactive children's book that educates and entertains people of all ages about this program to provide safe and clean water in Laos. Laos is largely a rural "community country" of eight million people in Southeast Asia.
Books for Lunch is sponsored by the Temple Public Library and the Temple Literacy Council. Persons wishing to bring their lunch to this presentation may do so and the Literacy Council will provide drinks.
