The aim of this 20-day residential Pali workshop is to provide greater access to the words of the Buddha, which will enable a deeper understanding of the Buddha's teaching, the Dhamma.
Goenkaji has emphasized that Pāli workshops such as these are very beneficial: they help meditators develop inspiration and understanding of the theoretical aspect of Dhamma. However, these workshops cannot take place at a Vipassana center, as centers are dedicated to the practice of Vipassana only. Therefore, a suitable off-center location is arranged for each course.
September 7–28, 2024, Temecula, California, USA
The teacher for this course is Mor Ifrah.
Just like the Vipassana courses in our tradition, this Pāli workshop is free of charge; costs are met by donations of former participants & the Pāli Workshop Fund

Mor's Pāli studies commenced with Pariyatti's first workshop held in Israel. He then continued his studies at the VRI Pāli course in India. He also had the good fortune to learn privately for a few months with the Pāli scholar Sean Kerr. Mor considers the great scholar Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi as his main Pāli teacher, with whom he studies regularly. Mor also leads weekly online Pāli study sessions through Pariyatti.
This workshop is for intermediate students of Pāli. Following a short review of the basics of Pāli grammar and pronunciation, participants will spend most of their time reading, reciting, and understanding the suttas and the Pāli language. The goal of this longer 20-day workshop is to help participants who already have some experience with the Pāli language gain a deeper grasp of it and so to experience the benefits and joy that derive from the exploration of the rare treasure of the Buddha's words in its original language. Pāli resources and aids for future individual learning will be provided so that if they wish, participants will be able to continue their Pāli studies after the workshop.
