6 week hand built pottery class will focus on building with clay, using different techniques to create functional, decorative works of art that are built by hand. Whether you are a beginner learning fundamental slab construction, or a more experienced potter and want to hone your skills, this adult class will be interactive with suggested projects and opportunities to work independently. This course will teach students a variety of hand building techniques including pinch, slab, coil and various finishing techniques. Vases, planters, bird houses, wall hangings, cups, bowls and sculptural forms are a few ideas for forms you can create. 12.5 lb block of clay and all firing is included. Additional clay/fire time is available to purchase if you are a student in this class. Come enjoy great direction and the freedom to express yourself! PARENTS OF HOMESCHOOL TEENS-this is the perfect time to dive into some FUN CREATIVE CLASSES at the studio! We can PRORATE if you would like your teen to join us for two sessions to trial!
