Thanks to Samantha Mitchell and her 'Ohana, we are now offering Sensory-Friendly Story Time with the Library to spark a love for books! Our Guest Speaker that will be reading aloud is our very own AMOK Member and Inclusive Partner, Country Denis. She will be competing in the upcoming Miss Kona Coffee Pageant with her platform "Autism Acceptance with Aloha" and we will be reading a number of select books on the topic: "Dinosaurs, Inclusion and Friendship."
The library will be closed to the public for our pilot program, and we will be featuring a private environment with natural lighting but more importantly - the freedom to Run Around and be yourself!
Vocal Stimming will be allowed and we won't have to be worried about being "Shushed" :)
This will be marketed to the public as Sensory Friendly so that the community will become aware of the opportunity for Inclusion in this setting!
