Chatter & Chalk is excited to host a sensory-friendly trunk-or-treat. This event is designed to be inclusive for ALL children, including those with sensory needs. Local organizations and community members will decorate their trunks and hand out treats. Inside Chatter & Chalk, families can explore a (not-so-haunted) haunted house with fun, hands-on games designed to encourage communication, play, and sensory exploration. What makes this a sensory-friendly event?
- no strobe lights or jump scares
- quiet zones available for breaks
- soft lighting and reduced noise at trunks
- allergy-friendly and non-food treat options (stickers, glow sticks, play-dough, fidgets, etc.)
- activities are therapist-directed with support for all children (as needed)
