There are sensory-friendly shows at the Staerkel Planetarium on September 27! These matinées will feature "lights up, sound down" and will have a relaxed atmosphere where patrons can come, go, and move around as needed. Our sensory-friendly shows are great for guests with autism spectrum disorder, sensory sensitivities, or young children. All are welcome, even if you don't need sensory accommodations!Explore the night sky with our friends from Sesame Street™. Join Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu as they take a trip to the Moon. See how the Moon is different from the Earth and learn how to find the Big Dipper and North Star from your backyard. This interactive show was coproduced by the Adler Planetarium, Sesame Workshop, the Beijing Planetarium, and Liberty Science Center and comes to us through a grant from the PNC Foundation.
Admission is $8 for adults or $7 for Parkland students, seniors 65 and older, or children 12 and under. Tickets are sold at the door beginning a half-hour before the show. Members of the Friends of the Staerkel Planetarium are admitted for free.
