A quiet, sensory friendly morning for visitors of all ages, their families, friends and support workers.Visitors with sensory or accessibility needs can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the South Australian Museum out of hours. This is a chance to see all of the permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before.
While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the morning to make it a more sensory friendly experience.
This is a ticketed event for people with sensory needs and their accompanying family, friends or support workers. Please purchase a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.
This is a pay-what-you-can event:
Please contribute what you can afford to give for each ticket and enjoy this event. The Museum's access programming is funded solely through donations, and we are grateful for every contribution no matter how big or small. Your contribution will help us to continue to present these programs into the future.
The Museum will open to the general public at 10am. Attendees are welcome to extend their visit beyond the end of the event, however please note that crowds and noise may increase after this time.
The Museum Shop and Museum Cafe are not open during this event. Both will open at 10am when the Museum opens for the public.
