About this Event
Sensory-Friendly Hour allows individuals with sensory processing disorders and their families to visit the Museum before opening on designated mornings.
During Sensory-Friendly Hours, some of the exhibits that may be loud or bright will be turned down or off. This will create a quieter and more relaxed environment for visitors who are sensitive to sensory stimuli. There will also be a designated quiet space where visitors can color, draw, or simply relax in a low-sensory environment. Sensory Bags with noise-canceling headphones, a fidget toy, and a museum sensory map will be available to help everyone learn and feel welcome during their visit.
Pre-registration is required. To prevent an overwhelming environment, this program is limited to 30 people.
After registering, please check your confirmation email for our “What To Expect at the Lake Placid Olympic Museum,” social story that introduces visitors to what they might experience while attending this event.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for military, youth (7-19), students, and seniors (65+). Children 6 and under are free. We recommend purchasing your tickets in advance on our website: www.lakeplacidolympicmuseum.org/visit/#tab+tickets-admission
