It’s witty, beautiful, funny and sad, gave Kate Winslet her breakout role and cemented all of the rest of the cast as national treasures. Ed says it’s one of the few films she’s seen that’s better than the book, and before you start throwing things at her, the New York Review of Books no less said the film had “made a number of improvements on Austen’s original”!
