Program Overview
Tri-County Complex is pleased to present the expansion of our programs aimed at enhancing inclusion and social engagement among seniors in the rural communities we serve. This expansion involves the creation of a dedicated Seniors Committee, designed to ensure that seniors have an influential role in the development and delivery of our programs and services.
We plan to enhance our seniors' fitness program by incorporating "For Seniors By Seniors" training sessions, led by senior instructors, to foster a more tailored and relatable fitness experience. Additionally, we will establish a weekly "Seniors Coffee Check-In" event, providing a space for seniors to connect and converse over complimentary coffee or tea, thereby strengthening community bonds.
Recognizing the wealth of experience and expertise within our senior population, we will also introduce monthly showcases. These events, curated by the Seniors Committee, will feature a selected senior each month who will share their skills, knowledge, or personal stories with the public. Potential showcase topics may include hunting expertise, crafting techniques, or life experiences.
For the success of these expanded and additional programs, it is crucial that we effectively reach seniors across the tri-county area. While information will be shared through our website and Facebook group, we recognize the need to reach individuals who may not have access to the internet or technology. To address this, we intend to circulate information sheets via Canada Post, ensuring that all residents remain informed about our offerings.
Through these initiatives, Tri-County Complex aims to not only address the social needs of seniors but also celebrate their contributions and enrich our community's cultural fabric.
