Hiveball Project is an open platform created to contribute to saving bees from extinction.
By creating ‘hiveball cocktails’, we try to create both an awareness of what is going on with the declining bee population and its urgent extinction, and create drinks providing solutions to the problem.
What is a ‘Hiveball’?
The word hiveball is coined from
- hive; ‘box’ where bees live and store up their honey
- highball; tall, refreshing cocktail
Hiveballs are tall, easy-going cocktails where a certain botanical herb, plant or flower is showcased.
This botanical is preferably self-grown (or if not possible bought from a local, biological supplier that doesn’t use pest- or herbicides).
All this too create more safe and nutritious environments for bees, focused on attributing to the repopulation.
PSBA Seminar
During the seminar we’ll talk about past and future projects concerning the Hiveball Project and explain to people who are interested on how they cam jump aboard and join this movement.
About Tim
Tim Lefevre is a Belgium born bartender, who moved to Amsterdam in 2016 with the aspirations to break out fo daily routines and build on his hospitality career. He started working at Door 74 a year after moving to the city and has not stood still ever since.
In 2019 he started developing the Hiveball Project as an opportunity to give something back to the world. It helped him reach the top 3 Best Bartenders of The Netherlands, according to Entree magazine and is now his second main focus, next to being part of Door 74 and its team of talented people.
