This April we are working with Suicide Awareness & Prevention UK and the National semi-colon tattoo project 2025.Sadly, suicide figures in the UK are continuing to rise. We need change and we hope that through this project we can bring this figure down even if it’s by 1.
The project is adapted from project semi-colon whereby the semi-colon is recognised as a symbol for suicide prevention as it represents a sentence being paused and taking a different direction rather than being ended with a full stop. This is known across the world as a metaphor for life and suicide prevention.
This project aims to bring people together, start conversations around mental health, show people they aren’t alone, and ultimately help to save lives. Your semi colon tattoos would serve as a permanent reminder for many to keep going. Many members of the public in previous years have said that they have been filled with hope through the project and been involved in life saving conversations as a result. Others support the project as they have sadly lost loved ones to suicide and want to honour them by getting involved and helping others who may be feeling suicidal.
This year the project will be taking place on the 4th and 5th of April 2025 and we will be offering semi-colon tattoos on these days, starting at a price of £20
We are hoping that 2025 will be the biggest project yet!
